SOYUZ 23 MANNED FLIGHT

Originally planned as long duration
flight to Salyut 5, the spacecraft failed in docking with the
space station. An immediate touchdown went critical because the crew
landed on frozen lake Tengiz during a snowstorm. The recovery crew
wasnīt able to get the cosmonauts out of the capsule because the hatch
was under water. At next morning a helicopter took the capsule and
dragged it to shore. |
