Assembly flight for connect UNITY-node with the functional cargo block ZARYA. Unity was connected with ZARYA by Pressurized Mating Adapter 1 (PMA 1): Another adapter (PMA1) at UNITY was used for orbiter Endeavour docking. On December 10th ,1998 19.54 GMT Cabana and Krikalev became the first people to enter the International Space Station . At 21.12 GMT they opend the hatch between Unity and ZARYA the very first time. |
