The Automated Transfer Vehicle
(ATV) is the first autonomous cargo space ship developed and built in
Europe.The first ATV, called Jules Verne, delivered cargo, equipment,
water, supplies, water and fuel to the International Space Station. With ist thrusters and fuel
capabilities it is used to boost the orbit of the entire space station.
It underwent a series of tests of ist flight and rendevouz systems
before its first docking to the Zvezda aft port.. |
